The already-in-development System Shock 3 by Otherside Entertainment is expanding from PC to consoles as Starbreeze announce a publishing deal.

Starbreeze is investing $12 million into the game to see it come to - presumably - Xbox One and PlayStation 4. No actual console platforms have been officially confirmed just yet. The new System Shock is under direction of industry legend Warren Spector.

"System Shock is one of those iconic franchises in the history of games that still gets my blood going and Mr. Spector is one of the founding fathers of the modern action RPG," said Bo Andersson-Klint, Starbreeze CEO. "We're greatly looking forward to bringing System Shock 3 to players world wide in our collaboration with Otherside Entertainment and Warren Spector's team.  I'll be first in line to play."

Otherside Entertainment will keep full control of the System Shock 3 IP which remains in the early concept stages of production. Starbreeze, an independent developer and publisher, is entitled to recoup 120% of their $12 million investment before their share of revenue falls to 50%.

System Shock 3 is in development for PC and consoles with no release schedule.
