Super Mario Run Release Date Confirmed
The first mobile game from Nintendo starring Mario, aptly named Super Mario Run, will be releasing on iOS for iPhone and iPad this mid-December.
It's a free-to-play title with a one-off cost of $9.99 if you want unlimited access to the game's three modes, which are otherwise open to be played with limitations. The game requires iOS 8.0 or later to work.
“The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”
Super Mario Run is the first ever Super Mario Bros. title specifically designed for mobile platforms and Mario runs forward on his own with a screen tap making him jump obstacles, dodge enemies and perform stylish moves. As is tradition, collect coins and leap for that flagpole!
Super Mario Run releases on iOS through iPhone and iPad December 15th, 2016.
