Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Release Date Confirmed
The next expansion to Square Enix's rebooted MMO Final Fantasy XIV is Stormblood and it will be coming to PC, Mac and PlayStation 4 by mid-June.
The next major addition to the online world introduces a new job called Red Mage, which is a DPS role. Swimming and diving lessons have been given to all - no water-wings needed. There's also a new Alliance raid called Return to Ivalice with two special guest creators behind it: Yasumi Matsuno (Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics) is writing the raid's scenario and Keita Amemiya (Onimusha 2 / Shin Megami Tensei IV) is handling monster and boss design. Composer Nobuo Uematsu also returns to score the Stormblood theme.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood releases on PC, Mac and PlayStation 4 June 20th, 2017. Pre-orders will start January 24th with additional details on the expansion coming at the European Fan Festival in Frankfurt February 18-19.
