Jurassic World On Track To Surpass $100 Million On Opening Weekend

It looks like Jurassic World will be very popular. Very, very popular. The fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise is predicted to rake in $100 million during opening weekend. If it succeeds it will be the third movie this year to do so, after Furious 7, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Tickets for the film have been available since May 15, ahead of its release in two weeks time and it would seem that a lot of people have been interested in purchasing them in preparation. Combine that with some analyst predictions and you arrive at the magical $100 million opening weekend every movie dreams of.

Of course these tracking figures can be a double edged sword as predictions can harm a movie if not met. The LA Times has an article available here which outlines why we should be wary of tracking numbers.

Jurassic World opens June 11 in the UK followed by June 12 in the US. I, for one, will be heading to see it on opening weekend, what about you?
