Fans that have been waiting over a decade for Warcraft IV may have a reason to celebrate. Blizzard’s Tim Morten has revealed that when his team is finished working on Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void that there may be hope for a new RTS version of the Warcraft franchise.

While speaking to IGN Morten stated, "This isn’t the end of StarCraft, but it’s the end of this story for these characters.”

“We don’t have any specific plans, but I’ll say that the universe has so much potential for more stories, clearly other stories could be told.”

When questioned about what his studios next project could be Morten said, "there is clearly demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe”.

“There’s no question, though, that we’ll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible.”

If Blizzard did move ahead with Warcraft IV, this would be the first RTS version of the series that has been created in twelve years.
