Middle-earth: Shadow Of War Officially Announced
It's official now as Warner Bros. has announced Monolith Productions' sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War, with is coming to PC and consoles this August.
A leak from retailer Target gave the whole thing away but the release of an official announcement trailer has set the scene for a full sequel to the original open-world Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The game won high praise for its Nemesis system that let you develop quite personal grudges.
The sequel has us deep behind enemy lines - all the way at Mount Doom - and now we'll be fighting to take down the forces of Sauron in the very heart of Mordor. The description for the game says we'll be forging an army, conquering Fortresses and dominating the land. The Nemesis System returns to create unique personal connections, as they would be mad not to. Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths will be our target in Shadow of War.
The leak also revealed plans for story expansions with a new campaign, playable character and abilities, enemies, allies and side missions. This story expansions are named as The Blade of Galadriel and The Desolation of Mordor. A gameplay reveal is scheduled March 8th.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August 2017.
