Fallout 4 To Support VR In 2017 With HTC Vive, Three More DLCs Announced With Final Story Add-on
This week is E3 and Bethesda Softworks have already held their press event, but thankfully there are some gems people perhaps didn't realise were there, like Fallout 4 in VR.
Next year the RPG wasteland simulator will be adopting full virtual reality support that will be compatible with the HTC Vive headgear, and presumably other VR techs in time. There's also a VR demo version of DOOM running at E3 but there are no specifics surrounding that for now.
There's still quite a wait for our valiant VR-fuelled battles with Deathclaws, but until then there are going to be at least three more DLC releases for Fallout 4 in the meanwhile. Nuka World was announced as one of the three but it is also the last major story add-on.
The other two DLCs were Contraptions and the Vault-Tec Workshop. Interestingly the latter will actually let players build their own vaults. It seems Fallout Shelter has proven so popular as people run their own underground community that Bethesda are letting us build them properly. Contraptions will open up new possibilities with clever mechanics, like conveyor belts and elevators.
Vault-Tec Workshop, which is due in July, will even let us conduct experiments on Vault dwellers if we so choose and will behave similarly to DOOM's Snapmap, where sections will snap together as we design the Vault.
Fallout Shelter will also be coming to PC in the future, as well as getting more updates for the iOS and Android versions.
