At first glance, the Wolseley Eight of 1946 looked like nothing more than a Morris Eight with a Wolseley bonnet and grille transplanted. However, it was more than just that, for a smoother 918cc overhead-valve engine of 33bhp was installed in place of the pedestrian 30bhp sidevalve engine of the Morris. A four-speed transmission and hydraulic brakes also featured. A plusher wood and leather interior helped to raise the Wolseley above its humbler Morris sibling and make any passengers feel they were in something a bit special.
