After several members of their family die from arsenic poisoning, Merricat Blackwood (Taissa Farmiga) lives with her older sister Constance (Alexandra Daddario) and their ailing uncle Julian (Crispin Glover) in isolation on their New England estate, away from hostile local townspeople.
