This is the first season of True Detective, an American crime Drama television show created for HBO. The series was pitched as an anthology format, with each season featuring a different cast of characters and story. The first season uses multiple timelines to trace two Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division homicide detectives' hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana across seventeen years. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star in the lead roles.
