A touching and nuanced dramatic comedy about unlikely friendships, forgiveness, and the need for change, "The Midwife" centers around the newly resurfaced relationship between Claire (Catherine Frot), a talented but tightly wound midwife and single mother, and Béatrice (Catherine Deneuve), the estranged, free-spirited mistress of Claire's deceased father.
