As an affordable GT, the Peerless certainly met all of its targets. The mixture of space frame with de Dion rear axle, and competent Triumph TR3 running gear was a wonderful set of ingredients with which to build a new sporting car. But like all of these ventures, finance was always the issue, and no matter how promising the car looks and drives, if the company can’t afford to develop it properly it’s more than likely going to fail. This was the case with the Peerless GT, and although it deserved to do well, it lasted a mere three years and only 325 were made.
