The ‘SP’ stood for ‘Six-Pack’ and denoted that these 1971-1973 Jensen Interceptors were rather special, with their Chrysler V8 engines sporting three twin-barrel Holley carburettors in a ‘six-pack’ configuration. The designation also hinted at their macho and hairy-chested nature, for the SPs were the most powerful Jensens ever built. Their 7212cc powerhouses peaked at 385bhp, which meant a speed of 150mph was attainable. However, the SP didn’t shout about its capabilities in the same way many other 1970s high performance cars did.
