Although the company’s first attempt following its licence-built Austin A40 was based on the Austin Healey Sprite – itself a handsome little car – the Tom Tjaada styled Spider and its Coupé sister did manage to look more appealing and Euro-chic. Few were exported, and even fewer made it to the UK, where its high price compared with BMC’s car made it a non-starter. Exclusive and fun if you can find one.
