When it came to facelift the 80, it was up to Giugiaro to make it look like a more substantial car. He did such a good job that it became almost impossible to tell it apart from the 100. Like its predecessor, the 80 was light and efficient, so when it was fitted with a 1.6-litre fuel injected engine, it was transformed into a genuinely quick sporting saloons. Further facelifted in 1984 to incorporate smoother styling and a posher interior, and while they were at it, the five cylinder cars became 90s. Getting sought after now, and values are on the up – especially the quick ones.
