Scalebound is a "Gift" for Microsoft with Broad Appeal to Non-Platinum Fans

Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has stated that Hideki Kamiya's Scalebound won't exclude an audience unfamiliar with Platinum's previous titles. "It's another gift for us," he stated in a recent interview with DualShockers.

The Xbox One exclusive is expected sometime next Winter, but not a huge amount is known about the 'action RPG'. Greenberg said, "We think of it as an action RPG game, and we think it will both appeal to fans of the games that Platinum has made, but at the same time, I think it will be a game that will have a broader appeal to folks that maybe haven't played their games before."

Overall, Scalebound will focus less on PlatinumGames' unique brand of character action and more on the role-playing aspects. Interestingly, the game will also feature four player co-op and the concept has been floating around since 2006 where it was pushed aside for the original Bayonetta.
