Rockstar Had No Intention on Bringing Red Dead Redemption to PC

Rockstar's Lead Multiplayer Designer recently took a moment of his Twitch stream to reveal the truth behind the Red Dead Redemption PC port which is to say, it was never going to exist despite how much the fan's wanted it.

While this might sound strange, Rockstar went on record in 2011 to say that a PC development wouldn't make sense "technologically, developmentally or business-wise" at the time. Roberts claimed, "I don't think there was ever an intention to have a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. I was actually really shocked that they did a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V."

"Obviously in development, we were all PC-based and had it running for one or two clients for the entire development," he continued. "But as far as licensing for the consoles and stuff, it was pretty much always going to be an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title, we never seriously talked about optimising it for PC."
