Captain Marvel: Ben Mendelsohn In Talks To Play Villain
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s Ben Mendelsohn is in talks to play another villain in Captain Marvel.
Variety are reporting that directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are in talks with Mendelsohn to star as the film's main villain who could be the leader of the shapeshifting Skrulls – a powerful race of aliens who prize racial purity above all else, meaning that they’re constantly at war with one race or another.
Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet wrote the most recent script with Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve and Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman penning previous drafts.
Captain Marvel is expected to hit cinemas on March 8, 2019.
