'Reboot Of Some Sort' For Indiana Jones After Next Harrison Ford Performance

Disney is in a bit of a bind as they can't quite decide what's going on with the next Indiana Jones movie after Indiana Jones 5, which will star Harrison 'Chewie We're Home' Ford.

The franchise will continue but it's how it will continue that is causing much confusion. It's both a reboot and a continuation, which seems to suggest they'll be going fresh but continuing after the events of the Indiana Jones timeline.

"Right now, we're focused on a reboot, or a continuum and then a reboot of some sort," Disney CEO Bob Iger told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Well, we'll bring him back, then we have to figure out what comes next. That's what I mean. It's not really a reboot, it's a boot—a reboot. I don't know."

"I don't think it reaches the scale of the universe of Star Wars, but I see making more. It won't be just a one-off." Disney are in fact already 'handing over' the role of Han Solo in Star Wars to another actor as they explore the smuggler's younger adventures with Alden Ehrenreich chosen for the role. They want the same torch-passing for Indiana Jones.

Steven Spielberg has promised fans there'll be no killing off Indy in the next major film. Indiana Jones 5 is currently scheduled to release in cinema in 2019.
