It's war between Bryan Cranston and James Franco in new comedy "Why Him?" as a father visiting his daughter at Stanford soon forms a rivalry with her new charismatic and rich boyfriend.

Writer and director John Hamburg (Meet the Fockers, Zoolander) is leading the project and seems to be dusting off a bit of his Meet the Parents movie from back in 2000. Franco will be playing the ambitious rich boyfriend who Cranston discovers as he takes his family to visit his daughter. The battle begins as the two compete for her attention throughout the trip.

As fatherly roles go few could probably pull off 'frustrated dad' better than Bryan Cranston who's had plenty of experience in chaotic on-set households. His most recent work includes the upcoming release of biopic Trumbo and he's also doing voice for Kung Fu Panda 3.
