The Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella rebooted film of The Mummy from Universal Pictures will be left undisturbed for another 3 months before grave robbers desecrate its tomb on the big screen. Universal has moved The Mummy from March to June 2017.

In this reboot of the franchise Cruise plays a Navy Seal sent into the Iraqi desert to locate a group of suspected terrorists in a bunker, but he soon learns they aren't armed insurgents but grave robbers who have all been 'magically killed'. Madness descends and the Seal team turns on itself leaving Cruise's character to discover a black sarcophagus deep within the tomb.

The new film is directed by Alex Kurtzman (People Like Us) and who is a producer on the new Star Trek film.

The Mummy should now release in US cinemas June 9th, 2017.
