More Awkward First Dates on Channel 4 Next Year

Last series of the Channel 4 reality dating show First Dates saw a surge in viewing figures. That's why Channel 4 not only orders a new series but a much bigger commission with 24 episodes from Twenty Twenty Productions.

First Dates is a reality dating programme where you see all types of people from different parts of the UK come to a restaurant in central London for a first date. The people in the programme are usually very different and rather interesting, but there is usually one thing in common at the end of the 'date' - that is hilarious awkwardness. That is probably why this show has become such a success alongside Gogglebox.

Yet another reality programme of rigged-camera style that is a total winner for the TV channel due to its relatively low productive cost, First Dates seems to become another successful format that is going to be sold to different countries soon, just like Gogglebox.

Twenty Twenty Productions promises to improve the series with more tweaks in the coming series. Well, can they please get rid of the French gentleman for a start?

If you are from the USA, you need to watch the trailer of series 3 below and pledge the American remake to America, ASAP. Anyway, more first dates next year and more awkwardness!
