Final Fantasy VII Remake Won't Run on Luminous Engine
The upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake won't be running on the company's in-house Luminous Engine according to Final Fantasy XV director, Hajime Tabata.
When he was asked by Nova Crystallis about the custom-built engine, Tabata said "Final Fantasy VII (Remake) is not planned to be made with that." Currently, the Luminous Engine is powering Final Fantasy XV.
At one stage, Kingdom Hearts III was being built on Luminous but has since change to Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. Perhaps Final Fantasy VII is taking the same route?
