Michael Keaton to Produce and Star in Imagine Agents

No stranger to comic book adaptations – or movies satirising their dumbing down of culture as a vehicle for authenticity…while dressed as a bird – Michael Keaton is about to produce and star in another.

The Hollywood Reporter has the lowdown on Imagine Agents – an adaptation of a Boom! Studio comic book series of the same name written by Brian Joines and drawn by Bachan.

The comic series follows an organisation called I.M.A.G.I.N.E. that monitors the behaviour of very real imaginary friends. In Men In Black fashion, the comic tells of a jaded 20-year veteran agent who must mentor a young archivist, with a routine day becoming something much larger.

Keaton will assumedly play the role of veteran agent Dave Slantern (although this hasn't yet been confirmed) who trains recruit Terry Snowgoose in the role of being an I.M.A.G.I.N.E. operative.

Fox is currently seeking writers to pen the script.
