The long-fought legal battle between Bungie and Marty O'Donnell (composer of Halo and Destiny) has come to an end as a court-appointed arbitrator has ruled in favour of O'Donnell.

The news was broken by outlet GamesBeat to whom O'Donnell said "I'm happy this is over, and I'm ready to move on." He will be rewarded with more than $140,000 through the first payment of Bungie's profit participation program which O'Donnell was forced to leave.

Bungie also violated its own contract by firing O'Donnell without cause and made him give up his company stock for which he will be reimbursed to the tune of 192,187.5 shares in the company.

The lawsuit first came about when O'Donnell claimed Bungie President Harold Ryan had denied him payment for benefits that he was entitled to, such as unused vacation time and paid time off. If you're interested in checking out the full write-up of the ruling, you can check it out here.
