The Five Must-Play Exclusives for PlayStation 4 in 2016

With the holidays quickly wrapping up in 2015, it is time to look to the future. 2016 is already shaping up to be massive for games, and both Sony and Microsoft will be vying for customers to pick their machine over the competitor. We have compiled a list of the five must-have exclusives for each console hitting in 2016. We start with the PlayStation 4.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Release Date: Late 2016

Guerrilla Games is known for crafting some of the best-looking games on any platform. Their Killzone series is still one of the showpieces for the PlayStation 4. They finally get to spread their wings and create a brand new IP in Horizon: Zero Dawn. This third-person action role-playing title features a post-apocalyptic world where robotic dinosaurs control the land.

Players take on the role of Aloy as she scavenges the land. There is an intricate combat system featuring traps and even crafting. The world is gorgeous and will easily be yet another showpiece for Sony’s next generation console.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Naughty Dog
Release Date: March 18, 2016

The Uncharted series is synonymous with the PlayStation brand. Developed Naughty Dog has made Nathan Drake a household name. So it was only a matter of time before his exploits made their way onto the PlayStation 4.

A Thief’s End is exactly that. Naught Dog is claiming this is the end of the Uncharted series, and it intends to go out with a bang. The Uncharted games have always been known for their interesting characters and popcorn-style action. Here is to hoping the series ends on the same bang it began with.

No Man’s Sky

Release Date: June 2016

The team at Hello Games has come a long way since the days of Joe Danger. Probably the most ambitious title announced in the past couple years, No Man’s Sky has a lot to live up to when it launches next Summer.

Being able to endlessly explore a vast universe sounds great. Naming planets, leaving a mark, and just discovering new life in the galaxy could be incredible. Even if it ends up delivering half of what it is promising, it would still be incredible.

Street Fighter V

Capcom
Release Date: February 17, 2016

In one of the boldest moves this generation, Capcom has decided that the world-renowned Street Fighter franchise would live only on PlayStation 4 as far as consoles go. This classic fighter is likely to be the biggest fighting game of 2016, and with a diverse roster and unlockable DLC, it could live for years to come.

The Last Guardian

Fumito Ueda
Release Date: 2016

Known as one of the biggest unicorns in the gaming industry, the latest from Team ICO may never see the light of day, even if Sony insists it is coming in 2016.

Regardless if it does manage to ship in 2016, it will no doubt be one of the most talked about releases of the year. Even if it stars a weird bird-dog-duck hybrid.

This is just a sample of the big exclusive games coming to Sony’s console in 2016. Still there is enough here to get fans of the PlayStation 4 excited about some of the titles we currently know about for the year.
