First Teaser Trailer for Disney's Moana
Following on from the poster release last week, we’ve now got our first look at Disney’s next animated adventure, Moana.
Staring Dwayne Johnson, Moana follows the title character (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho), a free-spirited teenager living in the South Pacific years ago, who sets out on a mission across the ocean to prove her self and to help her people. She's joined on her quest by demigod Maui (Johnson), who is in need of a little help himself.
While the trailer is centred on Maui – and why wouldn’t it be when Dwayne Johnson can seemingly do no harm and is as infectious and lovable as he's ever been here – there’s a wealth of talent behind the camera too.
Little Mermaid & Aladdin duo Ron Clements and John Musker are directing the film, which has seen script work from them alongside Zootropolis' Jared Bush, author Pamela Ribon and What We Do In The Shadows' Taika Waititi. And the music comes via Hamilton man (and repeat Tony winner) Lin-Manuel Miranda, working alongside Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina.
Moana will ride a wave into cinemas in the US on November 23rd.
