You won't be able to turn Horizon Zero Dawn into another Killzone title, according to developer Guerrilla Games. In an interview with EDGE magazine, the game's director - Mathijs De Jonge - spoke specifically on the use of firearms in the title, claiming there won't be any in your hands.

"What we saw with these prototypes was that as soon as you give someone a machine gun, it’s just spray and pray. It just becomes a cover shooter. We wanted the player to feel primitive, so we decided that the tribes would have very limited knowledge of technology. They don’t understand what’s going on with these machines, or how they work."

The prototype mentioned, a character model from Killzone 3 takes on the robot-dinosaur Thunderjaw with a machine gun in tow. As you might expect, the fight was over a lot quicker.

Horizon Zero Dawn is expected to arrive at some point in 2016, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
