Rumour: Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 Due In 2017

A brawl between the Marvel and Capcom universes seems imminent if reports are to be believed, with Marvel vs. Capcom 4 apparently scheduled for 2017.

A new crossover between the mighty IPs is to be announced this week at the PlayStation Experience event held by Sony, where they are holding the Capcom Cup 2016 Street Fighter 5 tournament. They'll be likely to pick the most recently popularised Marvel characters from the films, such as The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, notes Polygon.

It is suggested that Marvel could forgo the inclusion of X-Men which would break from the traditional Marvel vs. Capcom formula. The previous title in the series - Fate of Two Worlds - was released back in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The license between Marvel and Capcom reached its end in 2013 meaning Capcom couldn't update with anymore characters or additional changes. Capcom has said they won't be commenting on rumours, despite how tantalising they sound.

PlayStation Experience 2016 takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. It runs December 3 to 4 and will host a number of big name titles in the works, as well as drop some announcements.
