The OCD complex many still suffer with today over Crackdown's green agility orbs will be flaring up again but not this year as Crackdown 3 has been delayed into 2017.

The good news is that Reagent Games and Microsoft Game Studios have finally confirmed that a PC version of Crackdown 3 is in the works and will also be launching in 2017. This latest entry in the franchise has very large and very destructive ambitions.

To get the full experience of Crackdown 3 the game actually uses Microsoft's Azure cloud server system to handle physics calculations when you destroy large structures as they splinter and threaten to level other buildings close by.

"Today, we are excited to confirm that Crackdown 3 will be available for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, and will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title so you can buy one and play across either device," blogged the official Crackdown website.

It's the scale and scope of Crackdown 3 with the depth of chaotic multiplayer they're offering that has led them to pushing back the release of the game for extra polish. The original Crackdown released in early 2007 for Xbox 360 with a sequel in mid 2010. This will be the first in the series to crossover to PC, and supports cross-platform play.

Crackdown 3 will be absent from E3 2016 this week and will now release on PC and Xbox One in 2017. The PC version is exclusive to Windows 10 and its store. *sigh*
