Paul Feig on Ghostbusters: "Just Let This Movie Happen"
Paul Feig has responded to some of the online vitriol aimed at his new Ghostbusters film.
The Spy director took to Twitter to call time on the abuse he has been receiving ever since the project – which sees Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig stepping into the Ghostbusters fold, along with Chris Hemsworth as the new receptionist for the team – was announced.
As Feig heads into the edit suite to shape his movie, over the past day or so, the director has been responding to some of his harsher critics – who, he revealed don’t always turn out to be trolls but normal respectable family people.
You all have no idea what we did, so stop acting like you do. Enough is enough. Just let this movie happen. #enough https://t.co/lBZGHaNEbz

Given that no-one knows just how this movie will turn out, it’s difficult not to feel for him. Feig hasn’t delivered a bad movie yet but many have already written this one off without seeing so much as a frame of film.
Feig also responded to a few others hurling unpleasant comments in his direction, but also took time to explain the revealing of the cameos in the movie.
Gang, everyone should know that any and all cameo announcements are leaks and nothing we wanted made public. Media, please take note.

I only announced @Ernie_Hudson as a cameo because our set was overrun by paparazzi. I really wanted these cameos to be surprises. Just FYI.
