X-Men: Apocalypse Finds It's Jubilee

We may still be more than a year away from witnessing X-Men: Apocalypse but that won't stop us from getting excited about every little detail Fox lets out about it.

The latest detail to emerge is that Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee will appear in the movie played by newcomer Lana Condor. Jubilee, who possesses the mutant ability to shoot brightly coloured plasma from her hands which resemble fireworks which she can control with her mind. She is well known to x-men fans for her lead roles in the X-Men animated series, as well as Marvel Now's X-Men.

Lana Condor joins other X-men newcomers Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) who plays Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp (Straight Outta Compton) as Ororo Monroe/Storm, Tye Sheridan (Last Days in the Desert) as Scott Summers/Cyclops, and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler. These actors will presumably play the next generation of the X-Men as the franchise moves forwards. Especially when we consider that Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Mokingjay Part 2) has announced that Apocalypse will be her last x-men film, and that Hugh Jackman (Pan) will play fan favourite Wolverine. Now, Jackman is only rumoured to appear in x-men apocalypse at this point, however he hasn't missed an x-men film yet and with him up for at least one more solo Wolverine movie due in 2017 it's safe to say we'll see him.

So far the returning cast that have been announced are Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme/Mystique, Michael Fassbender (Macbeth) as Eric Lensherr/Magneto, James McAvoy (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them) as professor Charles Xavier, and Nicholas Hoult (Dark Places) as Hank McCoy/Beast. On top of that Evan Peters (The Lazarus Effect) will return as Pietro "Peter" Maximoff/Quicksilver. There have also been rumour of Channing Tatum (Magic Mike XXL) debuting his interpretation of Remy Lebeau/Gambit ahead of his solo movie.

As far as the plot goes, little is known at this point beyond the fact that the movie will take place in the '80s and feature X-men big baddy Apocalypse played by Oscar Isaac (Ex Machina). Apocalypse, born En Sabah Nur, is often considered the first mutant. He's a couple thousand years old and has a lot of powers including, but not limited to, telepathy, telekinesis, and complete control over his atomic structure allowing him to shapeshift and regenerate.

X-Men: Apocalypse is due out May 19 2016 in the UK and May 27 2016 in the USA. Check out the post-credit scene from X-Men: Days of Future Past for the first glimpse of Apocalypse:
