Ridley Scott has dropped a spoilery detail about 2017’s Prometheus follow up Alien: Covenant or whatever it is called this week.

As the shooting date approaches on what will be the start of a new trilogy of Alien prequels, Scott has been dropping some hints about what we can expect from his next Alien opus - including one particularly telling one involving Michael Fassbender's character, David.

And it looks like we’ll be seeing twice as much of David as first thought…

The news comes via Scified, which has uncovered two separate reports from Australian news outlets. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Scott said:

"Scott said it would follow on from 2012’s Prometheus and would have Michael Fassbender returning as both android David and a doppelganger."

The website SBS backed that up with the following:

"Scott said Alien: Covenant will pick up from the end of Prometheus, and see Fassbender playing two versions of his android character, David."

Double David’s weren’t the only news – Scott also confirmed that Noomi Rapace's character, Elizabeth Shaw would return too. What’s more, Scott has also described the mysterious ‘uncharted paradise’ we’ll see in the sequel.

"So I’m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one, which was [with] Shaw..." Scott said, according to THR. "Shooting will be a mix of location and studio shoots with location requiring monumental forest and monumental rock and the rest will be in the studio with fairly formidable CGI."
