Report: 'Mario RPG: Invasion Of The Rabbids' Launch Title For Nintendo Switch
Ubisoft is busy busy with a special crossover launch title for the Nintendo Switch, according to reports. They're clashing their Rabbids with Nintendo's Mario.
Sources from within Nintendo and Ubisoft claim this new IP will be a turn-based RPG featuring the looney Raving Rabbids and the much loved Mario. The current working title for the project is supposedly 'Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids' with the watchful eye of Nintendo making sure Mario fits their vision.
Mario's universe gets invaded by the Rabbids with some friends and foes among them, and a new Bowser based around the Rabbids will be causing trouble throughout as a recurring boss. They'll have plenty of cameos from popular Mario stars but ultimately it will focus on minor roles.
A demo is expected to be ready in January for press with a quicksave feature to combat the scourge of low-battery for the Switch handheld. Ubisoft is also playing around with the JoyCons vibrate ability to imply Rabbids have 'infested' the system and could appear any time.
Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids - or whatever it will be called - will count among Nintendo's flagship titles for Nintendo Switch's launch in March 2017.
