Ryan Gosling is doing some fine jacket work and Harrison Ford looks like he’s wearing whatever he had on that day – it’s the Entertainment Weekly look behind the scenes of long-awaited sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2049.

Not only does the magazine have our closest look at the characters of Rick Deckard (Ford) and new blade runner ‘K’ (Gosling) but we also get director Denis Villeneuve and Ford’s opinion on the biggest question of the franchise: Do you like our owl? No, wait a moment: is Deckard a replicant?

Caught in the crossfire between executive producer/Blade Runner director Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford and returning screenwriter Hampton Fancher, Villeneuve said: “It was very funny, I must say, to find myself in the literal crossfire of Harrison and Ridley, arguing as to why Deckard should be a replicant and why he should be human. As a fan, that’s a dinner I will remember for all my life.”

So will the new film answer the question once and for all? Harrison Ford adds: “I’m happy to censor myself on this one. I can tell you that it was a question that was of interest to me when we made the first film, and I’m not sure I ever got a straight answer from the people I was working with at that point. I think the answer to your question is worth the price of admission.”

In other Blade Runner news, Villeneuve also confirmed that the film will aim for an R rating: "My producers are finding it fun to remind me that it will be one of the most expensive R-rated independent feature films ever made,” he said.

Blade Runner 2049 will answer your questions on the 6th October 2017.
