Man of Steel 2 Still In Development
Superman lives! Shocking, I know but it turns out he’s not dead! Or at least he’s not dead for long as plans are afoot – once the Justice League has been assembled – for a standalone Superman sequel.
According to The Wrap, Man of Steel 2 or whatever it ends up being called, sources are telling the site that despite the silence over plans for a Superman-focused sequel, the wheels are very much still in motion – with Warner Bros eager to get the character ‘right’…which is better late than never.
While details are scarce at the moment, there are two unconfirmed DC/Warner Bros movies schedule for October 2018 and November 2019, with Ben Affleck’s co-written and directed standalone Batman movie set to take the first slot, it’s not unreasonable to suggest that the second slot could be filled by Superman.
With Suicide Squad failing to bring any sense of levity to the DC/Warner Bros universe, could Superman be the movie to bring some lightness and humour back to their dour productions? There’s a lot of movies between now and November 2019, there’s Wonder Woman’s own standalone movie in June 2017, the Justice League in November 2017, and then the various members of the League’s own films, so let’s hope there’s a few new tones within the darker hued DC universe.
