A meeting of cinematic titans is currently taking place in various locations across the global as Fast 8 instigates the greatest on screen pairing since De Niro met Pacino as Helen Mirren and Vin Diesel are snapped on set.

That’s right Helen ‘The Queen’ Mirren has made her debut thanks to Vin Diesel’s Instagram page and has already told Entertainment Weekly that: “I wanted to be driving, but unfortunately, I’m not,” she said. “Maybe that will come in the future, in Fast & Furious 12... I’m probably one of the few people on the set who know how to drive a gearshift car. I doubt the Rock knows... But I do. I know how to double declutch.”

Boo! We want to see Helen Mirren burn rubber!

In 2015, Mirren spilled her heart’s desire to the press. “My great ambition is to be in a Fast and Furious movie,” she said. “I keep putting it out there, and they never ask me. I’ll be in Fast and Furious 8. I have to say Vin Diesel is brilliant. I love Vin Diesel. He’s a great guy, smart — I love him.” And it seems word eventually got around to Diesel, as earlier this summer she revealed she had been cast in Fast 8.

Fast 8, which is still shooting, includes returning veterans Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, more recent additions Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell and new franchise faces Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood and Kristofer Hivju.

The film will screech into cinemas April 14th 2017.
