Now that we know what pricing Sony has in mind for their long-awaited PlayStation VR, Sony also announces they've got some big guns for the headset. Electronic Arts and DICE are developing an exclusive Star Wars Battlefront experience for it.

It's an "all-new Star Wars Battlefront gaming experience" is how they described it during their PlayStation VR press briefing at the 2016 Game Developers Conference in California. It's unclear exactly what shape it will be taking though as specifics weren't given. It could be an exclusive add-on of sorts or an actual exclusive title launching.

Perhaps limiting the action to Heroes is the direction they're taking? Letting us duke it out as Luke and Darth Vader in virtual reality lightsaber battles would be terrific. This could also lend itself handsomely to finally getting space battles as what could suit VR better than an X-Wing or TIE Fighter cockpit?

Also missing is a release date for the project but Sony teased there's more "in the months ahead" to be revealed. A virtual reality experience set in Star Wars is definitely high on many fans' wish list with some promising little pet projects so far. Will it be a multiplayer affair or is this the single-player Battlefront we've been looking for? PlayStation VR is set for launch in October for £350.
