Alien 5 Is Bringing Back the M41A Pulse Rifle
If you wanted proof that Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 will take its influence from Aliens rather than Ridley Scott’s Alien, then here’s a barrel of proof – looks like we’re going on a bug hunt!
Reportedly jettisoning Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection into the cold recesses of space and starting just after James Cameron’s superb sequel, Blomkamp is bringing back all of those more action-oriented elements from the 1986 classic: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, the Alien Queen, the auto-lifter… and now a certain pulse rifle.
In Aliens, Biehn’s Corporal Hicks called the M41A Pulse Rifle “a personal friend of mine.” Now get ready to meet a little friend of Blomkamp’s via the directors Instagram page.
