Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Teaser Trailer is Awesome...Obviously
Today is a banner day for fans of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 as Marvel has released both an admittedly cool black and white character poster (I love little Baby Groot hugging Star Lord’s boot), and an enticing first teaser trailer.
While it isn’t as extensive as the trailer shown at the San Diego Comic Con, the teaser certainly whets the appetite for the film to come with a smattering of new locations and action scenes. There isn’t much story but from what we can glean, it seems as though the forest locations are possibly those of Ego the Living Planet, the Ravangers reigning down on Yondu and Rocket hint at a threat to come, and, perhaps more importantly, the un-hooding of Nebula, the cybernetically-augmented ‘Daughter of Thanos’ working to destroy the Guardians in their first film – who now appears to have turned around and joined the Guardians along their adventure.
That link between Nebula and Gamora will drive a subplot that explores their difficult sisterly relationship.
Then, away from the plot, there are some kick-ass moments coupled with a hilarious exchange between Star-Lord and Drax that really gets us in the mood to spend more good times with the Guardians.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits cinemas on May 5, 2017.
