There's Murder in the air in Big Little Lies Trailer
Seriously using the word murder, this trailer for HBO’s Limited Series Big Little Lies certainly doesn’t skimp on the foreboding.
The seven-episode series is based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel about three mothers of first-graders whose perfect lives unravel in the most shocking ways. Starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz, James Tupper and Jeffrey Nordling, the dark dramedy is set in wealthy Monterey, California.
And it’s not long before the piqued barbs take on a more murderous tone, in the perhaps the best line of the trailer, Witherspoon’s Madeline addresses the clique’s newcomer Jane with: “This is Monterey, we pound people with nice.” Adds Kidman’s flippant Celeste, “To death.”
All seven episodes are directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club) from scripts by David E. Kelley; the series will air from February 19 at 9 pm ET/PT.
