Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Release Date Change In UK
The spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be coming a day earlier in the UK as it joins other European territories with a cinema debut on December 15th, 2016.
This helps reduce the terrible plague of Twitter and its band of spoiler trolls for British fans, at least by a day. The United States official debut remains December 16th. There's no reason given as to why the sudden change in date by a single day for the UK, which means it will now be in cinemas on Thursday instead of a Friday. A Jedi mind trick may have been involved in the change.
Rogue One is set between Episode III and IV where the Rebellion has learnt of a super weapon being tested by the Empire. They enlist the help of Jyn Erso - played by Felicity Jones - to infiltrate and secure the plans for this deadly project so that Rebel forces might stop it with a farm boy from Tatooine. Rogue One also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Ahmed, Genevieve O'Reilly, Diego Luna, James Earl Jones, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen and Forest Whitaker.
