It has been two years since the original launch of DICE's 'Battlefield 4' but the developer has continued to support the title with the occasional patch. The next of these updates will be arriving in the form of the Spring Patch, containing five new weapons and a returning game mode.

On the artillery side of the update, we will be receiving an assault rifle, a unique 'bullpup carbine' rifle, a new PDW with a built-in silencer, a long-range 'sniper' sidearm equipped with magnum rounds and a magazine-fed light machine gun.

As for the new mode, the fan-favourite 'Gun Master' mode will be returning from Battlefield 3's Close Quarters DLC pack. Similar to Call of Duty's 'Gun Game', the mode pits players against each other in a race to climb a ladder of increasingly powerful weapons. The first to take a life with the top weapon claims victory.

Amongst these changes, the patch will also be rebalancing all of the weapons and fixing several crash-causing issues. A full list of patch notes will soon be available as the patch heads closer to release which will be before the end of May.
