No Man's Sky "Just Went Gold" At Hello Games
The galaxy is almost within reach as Hello Games crazy dream of an explorable ocean of stars in No Man's Sky has achieved 'Gold' status. It's now ready for production.
It's been one long journey for the British indie developer and for fans of this first-person, open world survival game. No Man's Sky was announced formally by Hello at E3 2014 during Sony's PlayStation conference. It exploded people's imaginations but wouldn't be ready for two more years.
Unbeknown to the community was a 'secret legal war' being waged on Hello Games for their use of the word sky in the game's title. They were being given a major legal headache by BSkyB who took exception with the use of the word.
The entire affair is quite literally as stupefying as it sounds with no possible 'confusion' that could occur between a space exploration game and that of a multimedia giant. Should all world religions challenge BSkyB in court over their use of the word sky? Several deities claim to have made it after all. BSkyB are just confusing everyone.
Those bad times are over though as No Man's Sky One has finally achieved gold status and so it can be pressed to disc ready for gamers to plunder the riches of the galaxy.
No Man's Sky releases on PC and PlayStation 4 in early August.
