A Star is Born Release Date is Confirmed
After years of failed attempts to bring it to the big screen A Star is Born has been confirmed for a September 2018 release date.
Telling a tale of a young protégé and her fading mentor, A Star is Born will see Bradley Cooper make his directorial debut, as well as appearing opposite Lady Gaga, who’ll play he ingenue singer whose rise to fame runs in the opposite direction to her mentor and sometime lover (Cooper), a fading talent. Gaga will be writing and performing new music for the movie.
This will just be the latest in several adaptations of the story, which was brought to the screen in 1937, 1954 and 1976 – with the ’76 version scoring four Oscar nominations, resulting in Barbra Streisand and Paul Williams going home with the gong for best original song.
Warner Bros. have confirmed that a star will indeed be born on 28 September, 2018.
