It has been announced via the PlayStation Blog that the re-imaging of Ratchet and Clank for the PlayStation 4 as well as the duo's big-screen debut has been pushed to spring 2016.

Originally set to go later this year, both projects just aren't going to make it in time. However, there is good news for fans of the asteroid-kicking intergalactic stars. An official U.S. release of April 29, 2016 has been set for the film. Also, several new voice acting talent has signed on for roles including:

Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner: Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek
Golden Globe winner: John Goodman as Ratchet’s mechanic mentor Grimroth
Young Artist Award winner: Bella Thorne as Galactic Ranger Cora
Rosario Dawson as Galactic Ranger support team member Elaris
Academy Award nominee: Sylvester Stallone as Victor Von Ion, Chairman Drek’s villainous lieutenant

It has already been confirmed that the same talent behind the voices of Ratchet, Clank, Nefarious, and Captain Qwark in the games will be present in the film.

As far as the Ratchet and Clank game goes, that is set to release exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and be a re-imagination of the original game that started it all 13 years ago, it should be ready to go around the same time during spring 2016. The game will re-tell the origin story that ties in closely and expands upon the movie’s narrative. It will feature several new levels, along with re-imagined classic locales like Metropolis, brand new wacky weapons you'd expect from the series, and completely redone visuals... More information should come to us throughout this year and hopefully we'll see something at Sony's E3 press conference next month.

Stay Tuned!
