Mass Effect Andromeda Gameplay Debut At The Game Awards 2016
Proper gameplay for BioWare's Mass Effect Andromeda will debut at next month's Game Awards 2016, which is held at the Microsoft Threater, Los Angeles.
No more messing around as December 1st's Game Awards 2016 will give fans a much needed look at gameplay in action. Until now we've had to make do with scripted scenes and very limited glimpses of story moments unfolding.
The closest we have got to gameplay in action has been the 4K tech demo for Mass Effect Andromeda which showcased a very small section of the player character moving about the environment, and using the new jetpack system to vault.
We've already learnt much about Andromeda from released trailers and interviews. Initially the game takes place just after Mass Effect 2 and before Mass Effect 3, but then it will leap forward in time 600 years and in the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy. Four large Arcs have been sent to this new neighbourhood with each representing a council race - human, turian, salarian and asari. It's here in Andromeda that events lead us to 'take charge' of the human expedition.
"The premise is about galactic exploration. It’s much like modern day Elon Musk-ism, which is: ‘I wonder if we can get here? I wonder if we can do that?’ Andromeda is a human story, but much like on Earth where we would have people from all walks of life join these expeditions, the same thing happens in the Milky Way - all different types of races join this expedition, and we do it as one concerted effort as opposed to separate people doing separate things," BioWare Montreal producer Michael Gamble tells OPM UK.
The Game Awards 2016 will be taking place Thursday, December 1st at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles. It will be streamed online and will even be available to those with virtual reality headgear - fancy. It will be available on almost every platform: Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, IGN, Gamespot, Snapchat and Tencent. It is produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Mass Effect Andromeda releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2017.
