Alicia Vikander's Tomb Raider Gets a Release Date
Lara Croft is heading back to cinemas and now we know the exact date that she’ll be raiding tombs again.
MGM and Warner Bros have announced that the Tomb Raider reboot will arrive in cinemas on March 16, 2018.
The brand new film, based off the successful game reboot which saw a now realistically proportioned and completely untested Lara Croft tackle her first life threatening adventure, has been mooted for quite some time but things started rolling once Oscar winner Alicia Vikander was announced to star as the grave-robbing adventurer.
That release date was originally rumoured to be when we’d see Warner Bros. The Flash which after its recent troubles, looks likely to have a small delay at this rate.
The studio also announced on Thursday that the thriller Unforgettable, starring Katherine Heigl, will open in theatres on April 21, 2017.
Tomb Raider will be directed by The Wave helmer Roar Uthaug and, fingers crossed, it will finally break the video game movie adaptation curse.
