In the Heart of the Sea: New Trailer Released

Despite its delay, In the Heart of the Sea has unfurled its sails, caught the breeze and revealed a brand new trailer to tempt you out onto the high seas.

Adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick’s Moby Dick origin story of the same name by Charles Leavitt, Ron Howard’s ocean going movie relays the misadventures of a whaling expedition aboard the Essex led by Captain George Pollard, Jr. (Benjamin Walker) and first mate Owen Chase (Chris Hemsworth) after it comes out second best in an encounter with an angry sperm whale mid-ocean.

Being adrift in small lifeboats in the Pacific when you’re suddenly thousands of miles from landmass when the food starts to run out, has been explored before in movies such as Unbroken but never has it looked so terrifying.

Where the trailer differs from previous releases is in the footage of the whale attacks – where the angry sperm whale decides that even the debris needs to be destroyed.

Howard’s cast also boasts Michelle Fairley, Charlotte Riley, Jordi Molla, Tom Holland, Sam Keeley and Cillian Murphy among those who either set sail or must deal with the aftermath.

In The Heart Of The Sea is released on December 26.
