Cyberpunk 2077 "Far Bigger Than Anything Else" From CD Projekt RED

Thought the world of The Witcher 3 was big? CD Projekt RED are going even bigger'er with the futuristic Cyberpunk 2077 RPG. They're "stepping into the unknown" when it comes to complexity and scale.

Geralt's dark fantasy adventures in RPG The Witcher 3 has helped teach the Cyberpunk 2077 team a lot thanks to its own obstacles to overcome, so the sci-fi RPG has benefited enormously. It specifically helped them 'refine' their open-world ingredients for Cyberpunk.

"Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before," visual effects artist Jose Teixeira told MCV. "Far, far bigger. We're really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter."

"The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us,” he continued. “We really didn't know what was going to happen. If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it."

"I have a lot of things that I want to change and do better the next time around, and I can guarantee that almost everyone in that studio has something that they go 'I did this this time, next time I can do it differently, I can do it better'.”

Even the team at CD Projekt RED jokes it'll release the same year as its namesake, in 2077. So far there's been no hint of when the ambitious RPG will be delighting us with cyberpunk-themed moral dilemmas. Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PC.

Aside from the teaser trailer from two years ago, no actual footage of the game has been made available.
